What is the difference between an MCC panel and a PCC panel?

MCC and PCC panels are both low-voltage electrical panels but serve different purposes. An MCC (Motor Control Centre) panel is built for motor control and protection, using motor starters, contactors, overload protection and breakers to centrally control motors and motor-driven equipment in industrial plants and process systems. A PCC (Power Control Centre) panel is built for power distribution and protection, using ACBs, MCCBs, breakers and busbars to centrally distribute power across industrial, commercial and infrastructure facilities. In many systems the two work together: the PCC manages incoming and distributed power, while the MCC manages the operation and protection of connected motors.

What is the difference between an AMF panel and an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)?

An ATS is the switching device itself, while an AMF panel is a complete control system that includes the ATS or changeover mechanism, sensing relays, protection and monitoring logic. An AMF panel manages the entire mains-to-DG transition; an ATS only performs the physical switching.

What is the difference between a VFD panel and a soft starter?

A soft starter only reduces inrush current during motor startup and then runs the motor at full speed. A VFD panel continuously varies motor speed and torque throughout operation, offering ongoing energy savings and process control, not just a smooth start.
